Simple - it's the only one we have and we are degrading it fast.
So our mission is to brew the best beer, with the lowest carbon footprint, that we can.
120 solar panels on the roof provide all the energy for brewing. if we don't have enough, we won't brew.
So far, the carbon offset is equivalent to planting over 600 trees.
We don't just source locally, we grow some of our own hops just 200 metres from where we brew. The hops are harvested, picked, packed and chilled within 24 hours, the freshest available.
We're trialling some high aroma hops that thrive in the UK to reduce importing.
We believe in supporting our local community and giving back to the environment that supports us.
The spent grain, left over from the brewing, still has nutritional value and is collected by farmers and fed to local livestock.
Sheep graze the hop garden in early spring to help keep down the weeds, nibble off the unwanted early hop shoots and leave some goodness behind!
From supporting local charities to sustainable farming practices, we're committed to making a positive impact.
We only sell our beer in returnable glass bottles and flagons, reusable stainless steel kegs or recycled aluminium cans with labels made of recycled material.
Served straight from our chilled Shop and Tap cellars, or delivered fresh to outlets within 30 miles to minimise beer miles.
We charge a fair price for small batch, sustainably brewed craft beer from a local, independent brewery.
